I'm Ryan — a full-time engineer and working dad. I test every tool and tactic on my own money first, then write up what actually held.

The framework
Take control of your money, build wealth, and live the life you actually want. Roughly in this order — each one makes the next easier.
You can't manage what you don't measure. Work out what's coming in and what's going out, then give every dollar a name and a destination.
Pay yourself first, then live on the rest. Start with one month of expenses, moved automatically — enough that a flat tire doesn't become a credit card balance.
Anything over about 8%. That's a return you can count on, which the market can't promise. Smallest balance first — finishing beats optimizing. Take the full 401(k) match first, though: free money outranks everything.
There's no ceiling on what you can earn — only on what you can save. Cut what you don't need, then add one income — one, done properly, not five at once.
Time in the market beats timing the market. Top the buffer up to three months, then index funds, consistently, whatever the market happens to be doing that week.
Money serves something bigger than you. Your church, your community, a charity, your time. This one doesn't wait for step five — it's the point of the other five, not the reward for finishing them.

Who's writing this
Ryan is a full-time engineer and working dad on his own path to financial freedom. He tests every strategy he can afford and researches the rest. He writes about personal finance, passive income, and making money online — sharing what works, what doesn't, and everything in between.
I work close to ten hours a day at my day job. I come home, I'm a dad, I do the dad things. Then somewhere between 9 and 11pm, I sit down and build this.
A few years ago I was in the financial hole most people don't admit they're in — debt up to my neck, just making it work month to month. Everything here is what I've actually tried since, written for the person with one hour after the house goes quiet.
